#1. Maxwell Lewis, a 6'7'' forward who is 23 years old and a Pepperdine graduate of 2023, has been showcasing his talent playing professional basketball in Lithuania. Recently, he played a crucial role in Uniclub Casino Juventus Utenos' triumph over the second-ranked Rytas with a score of 101-95 in the Lithuanian Betsafe Lietuvos krepsinio lyga. In this game, he exhibited an impressive performance by scoring 24 points, securing 5 rebounds, providing 4 assists, and blocking 2 shots in just 30 minutes of playtime. This remarkable display of skills is particularly noteworthy as Lewis is only in his third season as a professional basketball player. Uniclub Casino Juventus Utenos, currently ranked seventh in the league with a record of 12-20, has been on a winning streak, with this victory marking their fourth consecutive triumph. This season marks Lewis' debut with the team, and his impact has been undeniable. His stellar performance against Rytas not only led the team to victory but also solidified his reputation as a champion in the making. Lewis has been maintaining impressive statistics throughout the season, averaging 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game, the latter of which makes him a league leader in this category. With 16 games under his belt so far, Lewis continues to prove himself as a standout player and a formidable finalist in the Lithuanian basketball scene.
#2. Colbey Ross, a 6'1'' point guard and 27-year-old Waves alummi from the class of 2021, showcased his talent by helping his team secure the CBI League Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Italy, Ross recently played for Trieste but unfortunately could not lead them to victory in their last game against the second-ranked Brescia, which ended in a close 80-84 loss for Trieste at home. Despite the defeat, Ross displayed an outstanding performance by emerging as the top scorer with 18 points. Additionally, he contributed 4 rebounds and 5 assists during his 30 minutes on the court. This game marked Trieste's fourth consecutive loss, highlighting the challenges the team has been facing. Throughout the season, Ross has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in the 27 games he has played so far. His consistent contributions on the court demonstrate his skills and determination as a champion player.
#3. Australian Robbie Heath, a 6'3'' guard at 27 years old, graduated from Pepperdine in 2021 and played a pivotal role in helping them secure the CBI Championship that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, Heath recently led the Hume City Broncos to a thrilling victory over the ninth-ranked Storm with a score of 95-91 in the Australian Big V Conference, which is the third division of Australian basketball. In this game held on a Sunday night, Heath delivered an exceptional performance and was named the MVP, showcasing his skills with a double-double by scoring 38 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and contributing 6 assists and 3 steals in 34 minutes of play. The Hume City Broncos, with a current record of 6-4, hold the fourth position in the league standings. With this win, it marked their fourth consecutive victory, highlighting their strong form in the competition. In another impressive display against Bellarine, Heath once again shined by scoring 38 points, securing 12 rebounds, and distributing 6 assists, ultimately guiding his team to success. His remarkable performance on the court earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com. Heath has been having an outstanding season individually, boasting impressive statistics with an average of 26.9 points per game (the second-best in the league), along with 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game over the course of 10 games. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Heath holds dual citizenship of both America and Australia, allowing him to compete in Australia as a domestic player.
#4. Experienced Australian Daniel Johnson, a 7'0'' center who is 38 years old and an alumnus of Waves from 2008, showcased his skills in a recent game for the Forestville Eagles in the Australian NBL One. In a thrilling match against the seventh-ranked Eastern Mavericks, Johnson played a crucial role in his team's 99-91 victory on Saturday night. Recording an impressive stat line of 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists in 36 minutes of play, Johnson displayed his versatility and leadership on the court. This performance was instrumental in securing the win for the Forestville Eagles, who currently hold the second position in the Central group standings with a 9-1 record. The victory marked the team's sixth consecutive win, highlighting their strong form in the competition. Johnson's standout display against the Eastern Mavericks underscored his impact on the game, further solidifying his reputation as a champion. His consistent contributions throughout the season have been remarkable, as evidenced by his season averages of 18.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 10 appearances. Johnson's exceptional year on the court exemplifies why he is a finalist and a key player for the Forestville Eagles.
#5. Spanish player Alonso Faure, a 24-year-old forward standing at 6'10'' who graduated from Pepperdine in 2025 and now plays professionally in Spain, played a vital role in Oviedo's recent win against Gipuzkoa in the Spanish Primera FEB. In the closely contested match, Oviedo emerged victorious with a score of 82-75. Faure showcased his skills by contributing 8 points and securing 7 rebounds during his 20 minutes on the court. The Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto team, currently positioned fifth in the league with a record of 19-13, has been on a winning streak, with this game marking their third consecutive triumph. #6. Mali Boubacar Coulibaly, a towering 6'10'' forward and Waves alumnus from 2025, currently showcasing his skills as a professional player in Spain, recently faced off against Estudiantes. Despite his best efforts, Coulibaly, the finalist, was unable to lead Alicante to victory. In a challenging game where Coulibaly was on the court for 12 minutes, he managed to score 4 points and secure 1 rebound. Unfortunately, his team suffered a significant defeat, with Estudiantes triumphing by a staggering 41-point margin, ending the game with a score of 113-72. Throughout the season, Coulibaly has demonstrated his strength and resilience on the court, maintaining an average of 2.7 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game across 35 games. Despite the tough loss against Estudiantes, Coulibaly's dedication and contributions as a player continue to be noteworthy, solidifying his position as a talented basketball champion.
