Rae Burrell, a 6'2'' guard/forward who graduated from Tennessee in 2022 and now plays professionally in the WNBA, played a crucial role in the Los Angeles Sparks' recent triumph over the Las Vegas Aces with a score of 101-95 in the Women's National Basketball Association on Saturday night. Despite the Sparks having a somewhat weak 4-3 record this season, Burrell's performance helped propel them to their third consecutive victory. It's important to note that this success comes early in the season, leaving room for unexpected outcomes in the future. In the game against the Las Vegas Aces, Burrell showcased her skills by scoring 10 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 25 minutes of play. Her standout performance was instrumental in securing the victory for her team, ultimately leading them to be crowned the champion of the game. Despite the Jacksonville Waves having a somewhat weak 3-1 record this season, Davis's stellar performance helped lead her team to their third consecutive victory. Zee Spearman, a former Lady Volunteers alumna from 2026 standing tall at 6'4'' and currently playing professionally in the UPSHOT league, recently took on the formidable opponent, Rennia Davis, in the UpShot league's latest game. Despite her best efforts, Spearman was unable to lead the struggling Savannah Steel (2-3) to victory in their most recent match against the Jacksonville Waves, where they were narrowly defeated 78-75 on the road. In this intense game, Spearman showcased her skills by contributing 11 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in just 23 minutes of play. Although she put up an impressive performance against the Jacksonville Waves, her individual efforts were not enough to secure a win for Savannah Steel. Throughout the season, Spearman has been a consistent performer for her team, averaging 8.5 points per game, along with 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Despite facing challenges on the court, Spearman continues to demonstrate her resilience and dedication as she strives to lead her team to success in the UPSHOT league.
#5. Australian champion Louise Brown, a 6'3'' forward who is 30 years old and graduated from Tennessee in 2015, currently plays professionally in Australia. In a recent match, Brown showcased her skills for the Frankston Blues but could not lead her team to a victory over the Northern Force in the Australian NBL One North, the second division of the league. Despite Brown's impressive performance of scoring 9 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 24 minutes of play, the Frankston Blues were defeated by the higher-ranked Northern Force (#11) with a score of 72-68. This loss marked the fifth consecutive defeat for the struggling Frankston Blues, currently ranked 13th in the league. Individually, Brown has been excelling this season, averaging 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. Despite her standout performances, Brown's team has been facing challenges in securing victories in the league.
#6. Sara Puckett, a standout 6'2'' guard/forward and 23-year-old alumna of the Lady Volunteers program from 2025, showcased her skills in Australia's NBL One North league. Playing professionally for Rockingham Flames, Puckett demonstrated her prowess by leading her team to a decisive 99-76 victory over the fourth-ranked Senators on Saturday night. In this game, Puckett's stellar performance was instrumental in securing the win. She scored an impressive 21 points in just 26 minutes of play, making a significant impact on the outcome. Additionally, she displayed versatility on the court by also contributing 3 rebounds and 2 assists against Warwick S., further solidifying her status as a champion player. Throughout the season, Puckett has consistently delivered outstanding performances, reflected in her impressive statistics. With an average of 21.0 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists per game, she has proven to be a key player for Rockingham Flames. As a finalist, Puckett's individual success has greatly contributed to her team's overall success, positioning her as a formidable force in the league.
