#1. Experienced champion Alyssa Thomas, a 6'2'' forward and 34-year-old athlete who graduated from Maryland in 2014 and received the All-ACC First Team award that year, currently competes professionally in the WNBA. Despite her exceptional performance, where she scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and provided 7 assists in 36 minutes of play, the Mercury faced their third consecutive defeat. Nevertheless, it is important to note that the season is still in its early stages, and there is potential for changes in the team's performance. Alyssa Thomas showcased her skills against the Atlanta Dream, achieving a double-double with impressive stats. Despite her remarkable efforts, her team fell short in the game, resulting in a loss. Her outstanding performance in the match earned her the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com. Individually, Alyssa Thomas is having a standout season, maintaining high statistics. She boasts an average of 18.0 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per game, 7.3 assists per game (the second-best in the league), and 1.7 steals per game in the seven games she has competed in so far.

#2. Diamond Miller, a 6'3'' forward and 25-year-old alumna of the Terrapins from 2023, is a standout player in the WNBA. Recently, she suited up for the Connecticut Sun (1-7) but could not lead them to victory in their latest game. Despite her stellar performance, the Sun, ranked #7, suffered a heavy 77-59 defeat at the hands of the Storm in Seattle. Miller, the team's champion, was the top scorer with 13 points in just 23 minutes on the court. In the matchup against the Storm, Miller showcased her skills by scoring 13 points, securing 3 rebounds, and providing 2 assists. However, even with her remarkable efforts, the Sun fell short and ended up losing the game. Throughout this season, the finalist Miller has been averaging 8.3 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game in the eight games she has participated in so far.

   #3.
