Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Every week we bring you a list of the top former Cavaliers players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. French Amandine Toi, a 27-year-old guard standing at 5'10'' and a recent graduate from Virginia in 2022, is currently playing professionally in Iceland. In her most recent game, despite her impressive performance, Toi was unable to help her team, Haukar, as they suffered a significant defeat on the road against Njardvik, the second-ranked team in the Places 1-5 group. Haukar, holding the top spot with a 16-6 record, was beaten decisively by Njardvik with a final score of 95-70. Toi, the second-best scorer in the game, contributed 17 points in 35 minutes of play, showcasing her scoring abilities by making all six of her free throws. This season marks Toi's debut with the team, and her efforts on the court have not gone unnoticed. In the matchup against Njardvik, she displayed her skills by scoring 17 points, securing 2 rebounds, and providing 1 assist. Despite her outstanding individual performance, Haukar could not secure the victory. Throughout the season, Toi has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 21.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game across the 33 games she has played so far. Her consistent performance highlights her talent and contribution to the team, despite the recent setback in the game against Njardvik.
#2. Experienced champion Ariana Moorer, a 5'8'' guard who is 35 years old and an alumna of the Cavaliers from 2012, is currently playing professionally in Australia. Despite her best efforts, she could not lead the Gold Coast Rollers (2-5) to victory against the Pirates (1-5) in the Australian NBL One North, which is the second division of the league. In the game, Moorer contributed 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in 29 minutes of play. The Gold Coast Rollers, who are in ninth place with a 2-5 record, suffered a 51-60 defeat to the lower-ranked Pirates (#13) in the North group, marking their fourth consecutive loss. In another match against SW Metro P, Moorer displayed a strong performance by scoring 6 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists. Despite her impressive individual performance, her team ultimately lost the game. Throughout the season, Moorer has maintained solid statistics with an average of 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in six appearances.
