Every week we bring you a list of the top former Colonels players who continue their career in pro basketball.
Especially interesting is good performance of Roddy Peters (20 points), Jeremy Smith (21 points), and Caleb Huffman (24 points).

#1. Roddy Peters, a 6'4'' point guard who graduated from Nicholls in 2018, is currently playing professionally in Mexico. In a recent game, he played a crucial role in Caballeros de Culiacan's surprising 94-86 victory over the league-leading Astros, who had an impressive record of 38-2. Peters showcased his skills by recording a double-double with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 14 assists in 37 minutes of play. Despite Caballeros de Culiacan's current seventh-place position in the league standings with an 18-22 record, Peters' outstanding performance against the Astros demonstrated his capabilities as a true champion. Throughout the season, Peters has maintained high statistical averages, including 17.3 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, 8.2 assists per game (leading the league in assists), and 1.9 steals per game (second best in the league) in the 43 games he has played so far. Peters' consistent contributions on the court have undoubtedly solidified his status as a standout finalist in the league.

#2. Experienced champion Jeremy Smith, a 35-year-old, 6'3'' guard and Colonels alumnus from 2014 who currently plays professionally in Australia, played a pivotal role in the South Adelaide Panthers' triumph over the Sturt Sabres, who were the leaders with a record of 9-1. The Panthers dominated with a convincing 103-79 victory in the Australian NBL One (second division) during Saturday night's game. Smith showcased his skills by achieving a double-double, scoring 21 points and delivering 12 assists while also contributing 6 rebounds in a total of 39 minutes on the court. This standout performance was crucial in the highly anticipated matchup between the top-ranked Sturt Sabres and the third-placed South Adelaide Panthers in the Central group. The win marked the eighth consecutive victory for Smith's team, highlighting their impressive form. Smith's exceptional display against Sturt Sabres, where he excelled with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 12 assists, was instrumental in propelling his team to victory and ultimately securing their position as the champion. Individually, Smith has been having a remarkable year with impressive statistics, averaging 26.6 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, 7.0 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game over the course of 10 games. His consistent performance and leadership have undoubtedly played a significant role in his team's success this season.

#3. Caleb Huffman, a 6'4'' guard who graduated from Nicholls in 2023 and received the All-Southland Conference First Team award that year, is making a significant impact in his third season as a professional basketball player in the Dominican Republic. In a recent game, he played a crucial role in Heroes' 120-111 victory over the Leones, one of the league's weaker teams with a record of 5-11. Huffman's stellar performance included scoring 24 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and providing 4 assists in just 27 minutes of play. This impressive display of skill highlights his rapid development and potential as a future champion. Heroes de Moca, currently placed third in the league with a record of 9-6, has been on a winning streak, securing their third consecutive victory. With only two games remaining in the Regular Season, every game becomes crucial for Huffman and his team as they strive for success in the league. Huffman's standout performance against the Leones not only showcased his individual talents but also underscored his ability to lead his team to victory, reinforcing his reputation as a finalist. Throughout the season, Huffman has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game over 15 appearances. His consistent contributions on the court have undoubtedly played a key role in Heroes' success and his own journey towards becoming a champion in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto.

#4. Ty Gordon, a 6'1'' point guard and 27-year-old alumnus of the Colonels from 2022, continues to make waves in his professional basketball career in Turkey.
