Every week we bring you a list of the top former Roadrunners players who continue their career in pro basketball.
Especially interesting is good performance of Nick Kay (24 points), Brandon Jefferson (22 points), and Mario Lacy Jr. (4 points).

#1. Experienced Australian basketball player Nick Kay, who stands at 6'9'' and plays as a power forward, is 33 years old and graduated from MSU Denver in 2015. During his time at MSU Denver, he played a crucial role in helping them secure the RMAC Regular Season Co-Champion title in that year. Currently, he is playing professionally in Japan and is a key player for the Shimane Susanoo Magic team. In a recent game, Kay led Shimane Susanoo Magic to a thrilling 104-102 victory over the sixth-ranked Dragonflies. His outstanding performance on the court earned him the MVP title for the game. Kay showcased his skills by recording a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, along with contributing 3 assists during the 36 minutes he played. Shimane Susanoo Magic is currently placed eighth in the West group, with a record of 25-29. This marks Kay's fifth season with the team, and he continues to impress with his consistent and high-level play. In another notable game against Hiroshima D, Kay once again displayed his talent by scoring 24 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and providing 3 assists to help secure the victory. His exceptional performance earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting his capabilities as a champion player. Throughout the season, Kay has maintained impressive individual statistics, averaging 16.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in the 53 games he has played so far. His contributions both offensively and defensively have been instrumental in the team's success, further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier finalist in the league.

#2. Brandon Jefferson, a 5'9'' point guard and 34-year-old alumnus of the Roadrunners from 2014, currently plays professionally in Greece. Recently, he led Karditsas to a decisive 95-79 victory over the closely-ranked Promitheas in the Greek Stoiximan Basketball League. Jefferson's stellar performance earned him the MVP title of the game, as he contributed 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 27 minutes of play. As the season progresses, Jefferson's team, AS Karditsa Iaponiki, currently placed 11th in the league, has only one more game left in the Regular Season, and it holds significant importance for their standing. Jefferson's exceptional year is highlighted by his impressive averages of 15.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game across 23 games. His outstanding display against Promitheas was crucial in helping his team secure the victory and emerge as the champion of the game. Jefferson's remarkable contributions on the court have undoubtedly been instrumental in his team's success throughout the season, showcasing his talent and leadership as a true champion.

#3. Mario Lacy Jr., a 6'8'' forward who graduated from MSU Denver in 2024, currently plays professionally in Serbia. Despite his efforts, he could not lead his team, Zlatibor, to victory against Borac ZM in the Serbian Meridianbet Kosarkaska lige Srbije. In the game, Lacy Jr. managed to score 4 points, grab 6 rebounds, and dish out 4 assists in just 14 minutes of play. The league-leading team, Zlatibor, suffered a 72-76 defeat on the road against the lower-ranked Borac ZM, marking their first loss after a streak of six consecutive wins. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, the upcoming match will be crucial for Lacy Jr. and his team. Throughout the season, Lacy Jr. has been averaging 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game across 27 appearances. Despite his solid performance against Borac ZM, both he and his team fell short in securing the victory.

#4. Brayden Carter, a 6'9'' forward and Roadrunners alumnus from 2025, has been making waves in the professional basketball scene in Portugal. Despite his remarkable performance for Galitos-Barreiro in their recent game against the formidable Ovarense, the team fell short by just one point, with the final score being 83-82 in favor of Ovarense. Carter, who received the All-RMAC First Team award in 2025, showcased his talent by scoring 24 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in the game, demonstrating his prowess on the court. It is noteworthy that this is only his first season in professional basketball, making his performance even more impressive. With this loss, Galitos-Barreiro, currently at a 5-16 record, suffered their third consecutive defeat. As they approach the final game of the Regular Season, the pressure is mounting for Carter and his team. Despite the challenging circumstances, Carter has been a standout player throughout the season, boasting impressive statistics with an average of 20.6 points per game (the second best in the league) and 8.0 rebounds per game (also the second best in the league), along with 1.9 assists per game and 1.2 steals per game in 21 games. As a finalist in the league, Carter's individual performance has been exceptional, and he continues to be a key player for Galitos-Barreiro as they gear up for their crucial upcoming game.

#5. Caleb McGill, a standout 6'8'' forward who graduated from MSU Denver in 2025 and earned the prestigious All-RMAC First Team award that year, currently showcases his talent playing professionally in Sweden. In a recent game, McGill, playing for BC Lulea, unfortunately could not lead his team to victory as they suffered a tough 106-89 defeat on the road against the second-ranked Norrkoping. Despite the challenging outcome, McGill displayed his skills by contributing 13 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist in just 19 minutes of play against Norrkoping. His performance highlighted his versatility and impact on the court. Throughout the season, McGill has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game across 28 appearances. McGill's consistent contributions and impressive play demonstrate why he is considered a promising champion in the making.

#6. Australian champion Mitchell McCarron, a 6'3'' guard and 33-year-old Roadrunners alumnus from 2015, who received the All-RMAC Player of the Year award that year, currently plays professionally in Australia. Recently, he played a crucial role in the Eltham Wildcats' victory over the seventh-ranked Blues with a score of 95-81 in the Australian NBL One (second division) last Wednesday. During the game, McCarron showcased his skills by contributing 8 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and dishing out 9 assists in 28 minutes of play. His standout performance helped lead his team to victory against Frankston B. With an average of 8.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game in six games this year, McCarron continues to demonstrate his prowess on the court, proving his worth as a finalist.

#7. Australian champion David Barlow, a 6'9'' forward at 42 years old who graduated from MSU Denver in 2003, currently plays professionally in Australia. In a recent game, he was unable to lead Sandringham Sabres to victory against Thunder, with Barlow contributing 8 points and 5 rebounds in just 16 minutes of play. Despite his commendable performance, his team fell short, losing 79-86. Barlow showcased his skills against Keilor T., scoring 8 points and grabbing 5 rebounds, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure the win. So far this season, Barlow has been averaging 3.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game over five games.

#8. Australian Thomas Garrett, a 6'2'' guard and 25-year-old alum of the Roadrunners from 2020, who currently plays professionally in Australia, played a crucial role in the recent victory of the Frankston Blues over the ninth-ranked Cobras, with a final score of 106-101 in the Australian NBL One (second division) last Saturday. Despite scoring just 4 points, he contributed 3 assists in 22 minutes of play. In another impressive performance against Kilsyth C., Garrett managed to score 4 points, secure 2 rebounds, and provide 3 assists, helping lead his team to victory. His valuable contributions on the court were essential in securing the win and further establishing his reputation as a talented champion. Throughout this season, Garrett has maintained an average of 9.0 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and 1.8 assists per game across five games, showcasing his consistent impact and role as a key player for his team.

#9. Spanish **champion** Alvaro Reyes, a 6'7'' forward who is 28 years old and graduated from MSU Denver in 2018, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent game, Reyes gave a commendable performance against Zornotza, scoring 6 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in 32 minutes of play. Despite his efforts, his team suffered a crushing defeat, losing by 25 points with a score of 86-61.
