#1. Australian Chloe Williams, a 6'3'' forward who is 21 years old and graduated from Indiana St. in 2023, is a professional player in Australia. Despite her efforts, she could not lead the Penrith Panthers (1-8) to victory over the Crusaders (3-10) in the Australian NBL One North, the second division league. In a recent game, the Panthers suffered a 59-71 loss on the road to the Crusaders, marking their seventh consecutive defeat. In the game, Williams played for 24 minutes but only managed to score 3 points and recorded 4 steals. Although it was not one of her best performances, she showed resilience on the court, contributing 2 rebounds and 1 assist against the Central Coast Crusaders. The Panthers were unable to secure the win, despite Williams' solid individual stats. So far this season, Williams has been averaging 5.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game in the nine games she has played. While facing challenges, Williams continues to showcase her talent and determination as she strives to lead her team to success in the league.
#2. Australian champion Ella Sawyer, a 5'9'' guard and Sycamores alumna from 2024, played a crucial role in guiding her team to the final of the Australian NBL1 Central that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, she recently showcased her skills in a dominant performance against the ninth-ranked Mavericks (1-9), leading her team to a resounding 94-60 victory in the Australian NBL One North, which is the second division league. In this impressive display, Sawyer tallied 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists in just 27 minutes of play. The Forestville Eagles, with a record of 6-4, are currently positioned fifth in the Central group standings, thanks in part to Sawyer's consistent contributions. With this recent win, her team secured its third consecutive victory, highlighting their strong form in the competition. Sawyer's exceptional performance against Eastern M further underscored her impact on the court, as she once again posted 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists to lead her team to triumph. Her standout efforts not only secured the win but also reaffirmed her status as a champion player. Throughout this season, Sawyer has been maintaining solid averages of 7.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game across the eight games she has participated in so far. Her all-around contributions and leadership qualities continue to make her a standout presence in the league.
