#1. Brandon Johnson, a 24-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' who graduated from Miami, FL in 2025 after playing for ECU from 2021 to 2024, currently plays professionally in Israel. Recently, he played for H.Gilboa Galil in a match against Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Winner League but could not lead his team to victory. Even though Johnson displayed a commendable performance by scoring 7 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play, his team, H.Gilboa Galil, was unable to overcome Hapoel Jerusalem, the higher-ranked team (#3), ultimately losing the game 71-82 on the road. This defeat marked H.Gilboa Galil's sixth consecutive loss in a row. Throughout this season, Johnson has been maintaining an average of 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in the seven games he has played so far. Despite his solid contributions, H.Gilboa Galil has been facing challenges in securing victories, as exemplified by their recent loss to Hapoel Jerusalem.
#2. Dominican Republic native Alanzo Frink, a 6'8'' forward at 26 years old, is a former Pirates player from the class of 2022, currently competing professionally in the Dominican Republic. In a recent match, Frink, a key player for the Reales with a record of 8-9, faced off against the formidable Metros who boasted a strong 13-4 record in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. Despite Frink's commendable performance, where he tallied 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in 23 minutes of play, the Reales were unable to overcome the Metros, ultimately falling short with a score of 78-91 in a game held in Santiago. This defeat proved costly as the Reales, holding the top spot in their group, were bested by the third-ranked Metros. With only one more game left in the Second Stage, Frink's team faces a crucial match ahead. Throughout the season, Frink has maintained an average of 6.8 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game across 17 games, showcasing his consistent contribution to the team's efforts. Despite the loss against the Metros, Frink's resilience and performance on the court continue to mark him as a standout champion within the league.
#3. Kentrell Barkley, a 6'5'' small forward who graduated from ECU in 2018 and currently plays professionally in Indonesia, showcased his exceptional skills in the recent game for Kesatria. Despite his remarkable performance, Kesatria, with a record of 10-10, fell short in a closely contested match against the third-ranked team, Borneo, losing by a narrow margin of 93-91 in Pontianak. In the game, Barkley demonstrated his prowess by achieving a double-double, scoring 25 points and grabbing 14 rebounds during his 39 minutes on the court. Although Kesatria suffered their first defeat following three consecutive victories, Barkley's outstanding display of talent did not go unnoticed. His impressive stat line earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, confirming his reputation as a champion player. Throughout the season, Barkley has consistently delivered stellar performances, averaging 24.2 points per game, leading the league with 14.4 rebounds per game, along with 4.2 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game across 21 appearances. His exceptional year individually highlights his immense contribution to the team and solidifies his position as a finalist in the league.
#4. Experienced Liberian Prince Williams, standing tall at 6'5'' and a 33-year-old guard, is a former Pirates alumnus from 2016. Notably, he earned the All-AAC Most Improved Player of the Year award during his time with the Pirates. Currently, Williams plays professionally in the TBL and recently showcased his skills by leading the Raleigh Firebirds to a decisive 109-97 victory over the Kissimmee Lambs (11-4) in The Basketball League last Friday, where he was named the game's MVP. In an impressive performance, Williams contributed 19 points and 4 assists in just 23 minutes of play. This victory marked the Raleigh Firebirds' third consecutive win, despite holding a somewhat modest 14-4 record this season. Against Kissimmee Lambs, Williams displayed his versatility by scoring, rebounding, and facilitating his team's offense, ultimately securing the championship title for the game. Throughout this season, Williams has maintained solid averages of 8.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game across five appearances. An interesting fact about Williams is that he holds both American and Liberian citizenship, allowing him the flexibility to potentially compete as a domestic player in Liberia.
#5. James Legan, a 6'3'' guard who graduated from East Carolina University in 2009 and currently plays professionally in Australia, showcased his talent and leadership as he led Warrandyte Venom to a decisive 104-86 victory over the Devils, who are struggling in the league with a 2-8 record. In this Australian Big V Conference matchup, Legan contributed significantly to his team's success by scoring 15 points and dishing out 3 assists during his 35 minutes on the court. Warrandyte Venom, currently ranked eighth in the league with a 5-6 record, benefitted greatly from Legan's exceptional performance. In another game against Wyndham, he once again displayed his scoring prowess by putting up 15 points, along with 1 rebound and 3 assists, leading his team to triumph. His consistent excellence on the court highlighted his skills and unwavering determination, playing a pivotal role in helping his team secure the champion title. Throughout the season, Legan has maintained impressive individual stats, averaging 18.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game over the course of 11 games. His stellar contributions have undoubtedly been instrumental in Warrandyte Venom's journey towards success in the league.
#6. Canadian Jabari Craig, a 6'10'' center and 30-year-old Pirates alumnus from 2018, showcased his skills in a recent game for the Tri-City Tide in The Basketball League. In a thrilling match against the DC Heat, Craig played a pivotal role in his team's 116-106 victory. He made significant contributions by scoring 8 points, securing 8 rebounds, and executing 2 blocks in just 17 minutes of play. His standout performance against the DC Heat highlighted his prowess on the court, aiding the Tri-City Tide in securing a well-deserved win. Throughout this season, Craig has maintained an average of 4.8 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game across nine games, demonstrating his consistent impact as a key player for his team.
