#1. Australian champion Samuel Daly, a 6'4'' guard who is 31 years old and graduated from Chaminade in 2017 after helping them secure the PacWest Tournament victory that year, currently plays professionally in Australia. In a recent game, Daly, a finalist in the Australian NBL One second division, made his season debut for the Sturt Sabres but could not lead his team to a victory over the South Adelaide Panthers. Despite Daly's valiant effort of scoring 8 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 4 assists in just 17 minutes of play, the Sturt Sabres, who were sitting at the top of the standings with a 9-1 record, suffered a tough 103-79 loss on the road to the South Adelaide Panthers, ranked third in the Central group. This defeat marked the first loss for the Sturt Sabres after an impressive streak of nine consecutive wins. Daly, who has been with the Sturt Sabres for five years now, displayed an impressive performance in his first game of the season against the South Adelaide Panthers. However, despite his contributions, the team was unable to secure the victory against their opponents.
#2. Australian Fletcher Macdonald, a 6'8'' forward at 22 years old and an alum of the Silverswords class of 2026, showcased his skills playing professionally in Australia. In a recent match, he played a crucial role for the Illawarra Hawks 2nd team as they triumphed over the 13th-ranked Falcons with a dominant scoreline of 94-69 in the Australian NBL One, the second division league. Despite contributing modestly with just one point, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in 11 minutes of play, Macdonald's presence was felt on the court. The victory propelled the Illawarra Hawks 2nd team to third place in the East group, marking their impressive seventh consecutive win. Macdonald's consistent performance, including his scoring against Newcastle, where he secured 1 point, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, played a key role in the team's success. His dedication and contribution truly embodied the spirit of a champion. So far this season, Macdonald has maintained an average of 1.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game across the two games he has participated in. His commitment to the game and ability to make an impact on the court position him as a promising talent in the league.
