We bring you last week's top performances from New Zealanders who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth, currently plays in China). He led Guizhou to a victory over the closely-ranked Hebei Xianglan (5-1) 129-122 in the Chinese NBL (second division) in Sunday night's game. Webster was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 42 points and getting 13 rebounds. Webster also added 9 assists in 45 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Guizhou (5-1) is placed first in the NBL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Webster has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 40.4ppg, 8.0rpg, 6.8apg, 2.0spg, 2FGP: 48.8%, 3FGP: 46.4%(32-69) and FT: 92.3%(24-26) in five games he played so far. Webster is currently a member of the New Zealand senior national team.

Zane Meehl

   #2. Second place goes to former University international guard Zane Meehl (188-86, college: Mid-Continent, currently plays in Australia). Meehl contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Sunshine CP (9-2) crushing them 116-88 in the Australian State League (second division) on Saturday night. He recorded 17 points and added 5 passes in 27 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group QBL. Sunshine Coast Rip (8-1) is placed second. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. It's Meehl's first season with the team. Meehl has relatively good stats this year: 10.7ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.4apg, 2FGP: 47.4% in nine games. He has a dual citizenship: New Zealand and Australian. Former Wellington Exodus Saints starter played for the New Zealand university national team in 2007.

   #3. The New Zealand player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Dyson King-Hawea (200-92, currently plays in Australia). King-Hawea contributed to a Diamond Valley Eagles' surprising victory against the leader Ballarat Miners (9-4) 83-80 in the Australian State League (second division) in Sunday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds. Diamond Valley Eagles (4-10) are placed seventh in SEABL-South group. This season King-Hawea has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.9apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 53.2%, 3FGP: 28.3% and FT: 75.0%. He is also a member of the New Zealand senior national team.

James Paringatai
   #4. Forward James Paringatai (201-86, currently plays in Australia). Paringatai could not help Buccaneers (14-3) to beat Hawks (10-8). He recorded only 4 points in 9 minutes on the court. The second-placed Buccaneers (14-3) were crushed 97-73 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Hawks in the SBL group. They ended the series of eight consecutive victories. This year Paringatai's overall stats are: 2.9ppg and 1.6rpg in 15 games. He used to play for the New Zealand national team back in 2013.

   #1. Zac Carter (203-F/G-89, currently plays in Australia). He could not help Brisbane Capitals (3-5) to beat Mackay Meteors (5-5). Carter recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. But the tenth-placed Brisbane Capitals (3-5) were defeated 94-90 on the road by the higher-ranked Mackay Meteors (#9) in the QBL group. It's Carter's fourth season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Carter averages: 15.6ppg, 5.4rpg and 2.4apg. He has a dual citizenship: New Zealand and Australian.

   #2. Thomas Giles (180-G-88, currently plays in Australia) managed to help Northern Suburbs Bears to win against the seventh-ranked Crusaders (3-7) 88-75 in the Australian State League (second division) on Saturday night. Giles recorded only 3 points. Northern Suburbs Bears (8-1) are placed third in WARATAH group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Giles' total stats this season are: 1.8ppg and 1.7rpg.

   #3. Zeke Meehl (181-G-88, currently plays in Australia) contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Sunshine CP (9-2) crushing them 116-88 in the Australian State League (second division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group QBL. Sunshine Coast Rip (8-1) is placed second. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This year Meehl's total stats are: 4.9ppg and 1.1rpg in nine games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: New Zealand and Australian.

International Forward Jordan Ngatai (196-F-93, agency: MKP Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Wellington S., receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 8. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most important game in the last round took place in Southland between third ranked Sharks (7-3) and fourth ranked Rams (6-4) on Friday night.
